Last week our team was proud to announce that David Berliner, Raphael Bouskila and Trish Nixon are among the latest recipients of the 2017 Canada’s Clean50 award. Our fearless leaders are joining an impressive list of environmental pioneers including Ontario’s Climate and Energy Minister Glen Murray and Environment Commissioner Dianne Saxe.

“Canada’s Clean50 Awards are announced annually by Delta Management Group and the Clean50 organization to recognize those 50 individuals or small teams, from 16 different categories, who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada over the past 2 years,” says Gavin Pitchford the CEO of Delta Management Group.

CoPower won in the Financial Services category alongside Vancity’s Christine Bergeron and Globe Series’ Nancy Wright.

Trish and Raphael attended the award ceremony on Toronto Island on Thursday where honourees gathered for a summit to tackle common sustainability issues.

What we didn’t know is that CoPower would also receive a surprise award for environmental entrepreneurship.

In an email to me this morning Gavin Pitchford CEO of Delta Management commented on the decision to honour this team with the Environmental Entrepreneur Award:

“It was a tough choice and we considered the impact of enterprises led by several of the Clean50 emerging leaders. In the end, it was CoPower’s measurable difference in terms of carbon reductions, as well as the velocity these three young leaders have achieved in raising and deploying capital for clean energy that impressed us most. The company has also set itself apart by securing validation from big players like RBC. Congratulations David, Raphael, and Trish!”
